Dot US Domains
The dot US country-specific top-level domain was introduced in 1985 and designated to the United States of America, but it was opened to the public in 2002. It is one of the most widespread country extensions as a great number of US enterprises prefer to use a local domain and the US market is one of the largest around the world. Quite a few institutions, agencies and local governments also had or still use second-, third- or even fourth-level dot US domains along with their official dot GOV domains.
We are among the registration service providers offering dot US registrations and your new domain will be operational minutes after you order it. The registration interval is between 1 and 10 years and you can also move over an existing domain and we will renew it once the transfer is finished and the domain is registered on our end. Through our Hepsia Control Panel interface, you will have full control over your domain name – you can edit your WHOIS information, to park your domain, to set up custom DNS records, etc.
Solely US citizens, residents, organizations and commercial entities can obtain .US domains, so foreign entities must have a local presence, whilst individuals from other countries cannot purchase such domains. To enforce these limitations, the Registry organization that manages the TLD – Neustar, performs occasional checks on existing domain names. This is also the reason for this country-code top-level domain name extension not to support Whois Privacy Protection, so the Registrant (owner) info will always be publicly accessible upon a WHOIS check.
